Venerable Gonsar Rinpoce taught this teaching at a weekend seminar in February 1999 at Rabten Choeling, Mont-Pelerin, Switzerland. The practice of prayer and ritual on Tārei was already widespread in ancient India, in all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism, as well as in China and Mongolia.
The book is Master Gonsar Rinpoche's rare commentary on the practice for health, long life (longevity) and spiritual prosperity in connection with Buddha Arya Tara.
Understanding the essentials of the practice is the key element on which the success and blessings of the Divine depend.
At the end of the text are the blessings we can gain from this practice. In this Romanian edition there is also a translation from Tibetan of a text in praise of Tāra, composed by the great master Atiśa Dīpamkara-śrī-jñāna.
Book extract:
meaning „liberating, very liberating, extremely liberating from suffering and the causes of suffering”.
„Tare”, the first syllable, means „liberating”. Indeed, Tara protects all sentient beings from the perils of this life, from unhappy existences and their causes, freeing them from negative karma and their mental disturbances, particularly quickly, on the spot, being more effective than the other Deities.

The second term, „Tutare”, is the next nuance and means or „great liberator”. Apart from immediate (or external) dangers, Tara can defend us from the cycle of existences and their causes.
The latter lie within ourselves and are called the „eight inner dangers” or „eight chief mental disturbances”. These are: the fire of anger, the water of attachment, the lion of pride, the serpent of envy, the elephant of ignorance, the thief of wrong views, the miserliness that shackles us like a dungeon, and the evil spirits of negative doubts. All mental disorders, petty as well as serious, are the cause of the cycle of existence.
By meditating on Tara, surrendering to her, chanting her Mantra or practising her Sadhanas, we can remove our mental disturbances and thus free ourselves from the cycle of existences.
It is not difficult to get rid of the eight outer dangers, but it is not easy to get rid of the eight inner dangers. Without the support of Tara no god or human being can free himself from them. A right intention, a well-considered mind and an attitude of sincere shelter will have an immediate beneficial effect on us by diminishing the power of our mental disturbances.”
