Teachings on the essentials of Buddhism

We have the great joy to announce that the Venerable Master Gonsar Rinpoce will be back in Romania, after a five-year break, in Bucharest to teach Dharma teachings. Through his personal example, as well as through his teachings, we will have the rare opportunity to come into contact with a fulfilled mind, bearing the stamp of a luminous strength and clarity.

The event is dedicated to the general public and is designed to meet all those who seek to develop their own mind by cultivating compassion and wisdom.

Theme

The main topic of the weekend seminar will be the essential aspects of the teaching of the Buddha (the Awakened One), in particular, the significance of the Three Gemmata (triratna): Buddha, Dharma, Sangha. The attitude that defines a person as a Buddhist is the attitude of seeking refuge or protection (śaraṇa) in The Three Gemmata.

Teachings will be based on the text Śaraṇa-gamana-deśanā, compised by the great Bengali master Atiśa Dīpamkara Dīpamkara-śrī-jñāna who lived between 982-1054. He is the master who had the greatest influence on Buddhism in Tibet, his teachings on the mind of the Thirteenth Mind (Bodhicitta) and especially on the gradual path to the Thirteenth (Lam Rim), are the cornerstone for all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

During the teachings we will also have the chance to ask questions to Venerable Gonsar Rinpoce.

To participate in the weekend event, either both days or only part of it, please register by filling in the registration form accessible below.

Costs

The suggested donation for one day is 100 RON and for the whole weekend 200RON. Donations are strictly intended to cover organisational and logistical costs.

For students, unemployed people, or those who cannot afford it financially but wish to participate, please mention in the application form and you can participate as a volunteer. Everyone is welcome.
